Poker and investing in the markets
I recently read in an old Vanity Fair article that Hedge Fund Manager Steve Cohen attributes his early success in investing to his poker playing ability. I personally know from being an occasional poker player that the game of investing is very similar to the game of poker. I feel that some of the best poker players in the world could also be some of the best investors in the world. Why don't investment firms look to recruit some of the top analytical minds in poker? And if they do how would a poker player show that his analytical ability is actually transferrable to the world of investing without portraying the compulsive gambler?
No, I am not thinking of listing poker play on my resume, I just see many players with great analytical ability that could easily be great investment bankers.
