Politics & networking internationally: I want to reach out to expat finance professionals. How should I go about this?
With serious talk of trade wars and catastrophic fiscal policies and general unprecedentedly huge uncertainty, we live in interesting times, to put it mildly. I'll be frank: I'm wary. But a lot of people hate talking "politics".

So:
Reaching out to alums in London or Hong Kong or wherever else, should I be generic or transparent?
What should I send in the initial email? What should I reserve for later?
What questions should I ask?
It feels like I'm walking on eggshells. Am I?
