u spent 3000 a month, and you are getting 4000/month after tax each month? dang...living in up huh

I live in a great spot in the ideal building with the ideal unit, with a beautiful view of the skyline...I like the idea of enjoying what little time I have at home. And by the way, I share my nice 1 BD with my girl, it's worth it. She will be getting a job VERY SOON.

Dude really? Why would you spend 75% of your net income on rent? After utilities/cable how do you afford basic living costs?

Didn't I just answer that question dude? To put it simple, I value my happiness, and it makes me happy knowing that I come home to a great apartment...and potentially more importantly, it makes me happy knowing that my girl (who is sacrificing a lot by supporting my decision to work in banking) is happy and comfortable. And didn't I just make it clear that I am not solely paying for the $3000 rent? She is sharing my 1 BD and she is going to be sharing the cost...she won't be sitting around all day, she will be working. With that being said, it won't be hard for her (or most college grads) to provide for $1500 of bills per month. And with that being the case, I'm paying about as much as the rest of you clowns with roommates.

So what up now...I have a great relationship with an awesome woman; a great job; a great apartment in a luxury building, in a great location in manhattan, with a great view of the Empire State Building, for the same price you guys are paying for a dump in hipsterville. I feel pretty good about that.

you sound p-whipped bro, worrying about your girl's happiness and shit

$1000

I think it's stupid how practically every banker I know shells out $2000+ a month to go live in a luxury apartment when they will never ever have the time to enjoy the amenities.
