Post-MBA Venture Capital Comp
I'm currently in my last semester of b-school going through advanced stages of VC interviews. I did VC pre-MBA and have only a few data points on post-MBA comp for a Senior Associate / VP. Starting base is pretty consistent: $140k - $160k in Bay Area (with an outlier at $120k for a small fund in Boston). But bonus and carry (if any) is the big variable. For VC bonuses, I've heard 40% to 100% of base, usually without carry until Principal level.
What have you heard? Also, how do base and bonus progress 2-5 years out? One of the funds I'm speaking with has a track record of "promoting to partner" in a few years... essentially everyone is a partner there, but "partner" means "has some form of carry" in that fund. Any ideas on comp for junior partners?
Also, final question. What happened to vccomp.com? That was useful info...
