Power of the Harvard brand
Among Harvard students, it's called "dropping the H-bomb." In social settings they love telling people (especially chicks) that they go to harvard but try to act humble while saying it, in order to maximize the effect. I always thought this was total bullshit, but according to my friends at HBS, it can work wonders. Chicks at boston bars are extremely impressed by a guy who goes to HBS, especially if he's decent looking and has good social skills.
.....
Thank you captain obvious. If you have to name drop that you go to Harvard to get chicks your pretty lame.
A true Harvard man tells others he goes "to school in Boston"
advertising your alma mater is rather lower middle class
lol saying you go to "school in boston" is stupid. just say harvard if they ask.
otherwise they'll ask what school and when you FINALLY admit it, you'll look like a douche for making such a big deal about something no one really cares that much about.
i can't stand kids that say that shit. it's so juvenile.
Harvard is in Cambridge, not Boston
yes, but "go to school in boston" is what harvard kids say to try to play it down. no one says, "i go to school in cambridge"
this is actually true.
.....
yale kids do the same thing. "i go to school in ct," or "i go to school in new haven."
sigh
