Hello all,
At the end of my third year as an analyst, I was promoted to associate. However, I left the firm a couple weeks later and took a job outside of banking. How would you recommend showing this on my resume and/or LinkedIn profile.

...You can't really put being promoted to associate for just two weeks on your resume/Linkedin, can you? At most a bullet point in your analyst experience saying promoted to associate.
Are you going back into IB? If not, no one is going to know the difference between an analyst and an associate. And most finance jobs outside of IB the title "analyst" is often more prestigious than "associate." The whole analyst, associate thing means nothing outside the circle of IB.

Right now, I have no plans to go back into IB, but you never know what the future may hold. I like notthehospitalER's suggestion of just including the promotion as a bullet point. Maybe something like, "Promoted to Associate in Month, Year" would work as a bullet.
While I agree with you that most people would not recognize the difference between an analyst and an associate, I think that my promotion might be important to someone who did understand the difference. And, even though I no longer work in an IB role, I work with a number of former bankers so I think many people at my company may have been educated in IB lingo.
My other concern is that some people may view leaving so quickly after a promotion negatively. Should I be concerned about that?
This really depends on the person you are interviewing with. If it is someone who has a background in IB, then I'm sure they will understand the nature of mobility in the field and will not be surprised you left (especially since they all clearly left too). Putting the promotion into a bullet point is a very good idea, but I wouldn't over-think the situation. You'll be fine. Good luck!
I would put the title as a separate line, I think it will be clear what happened and to people outside of banking you want to make it clearer that you were promoted, it looks better to them than simply 3 years in the same role. I don't think you need to worry about leaving right after being promoted, you put in 3 years which is plenty of time and presumably this was your first time switching companies.
