Putting study abroad on resume before going abroad?
Hi all,
I am studying abroad Spring 2017. For this fall, I am wondering if I can put my future study abroad experience on my resume. I know it might be a little awkward to talk about in an interview because it hasn't happened yet. But by the time I start my summer 2017 internship, I will have the experience under my belt. I don't have a ton of extracurriculars, so it would be nice to put.
Is it ok to put a study abroad experience that I have signed up for but haven't done yet on my resume? Or is that dumb?
If not, should I consider lying about when I studied abroad?
Thanks
It's fine as long as it's clear that you haven't gone yet so should look like something like this -University of Abroad - student exchange (spring 2017)
....
I think you mean that one shouldn't put anything on their resume that they haven't actually "started." Because if we followed your logic, one wouldn't put their education/school on the resume when applying to internships/SA positions because they haven't actually graduated yet.
In OP's case, I think it's fine to put that on the resume (as long as he doesn't try to be misleading about when he's actually going abroad). Since it's related to his ongoing education, it's relevant.

Definitely dont lie about something like this
Dolores consequatur qui fugit iure possimus in. Accusamus reprehenderit sapiente voluptatem sed. Autem mollitia corporis ut est animi. Facilis fugit saepe suscipit ut quo illum.
