PwC TS internship after 2nd year -> good for future IB/HF internship?

How will a PwC TS internship after 2nd year undergrad affect my chances of landing an IB summer analyst gig after 3rd year? I don't have some very specific plan of if it's BB, or even IB (I'd take whatever I can get, boutique, boutique HF, etc. whatever I can land after next year). In some shape or form will the PwC TS help me get any sort of IB/HF gig next summer? Thanks.

Definitely won't hurt you, especially as a sophomore. You won't be expected to know/do anything really substantial, but just getting the office environment work experience is useful. As an added bonus, with TS you may actually be involved in some financial due diligence and/or valuation. Both of those are skills you will find useful. Just getting a bit of exposure to these fields will be helpful and will differentiate you from other candidates.

Of course an IB internship is even better, but if this is all you got, it is by no means a bad internship. Many people post graduating, using TS as a stepping stone to convert from an auditing full time position to IB, so an internship should be just as good, if not even more helpful.

Ok, that's encouraging. The problem is that because of some issues that hopefully won't effect me going forward, I had a shitty 3.2 GPA in my first two years. While I plan to bust my ass off in 3rd and 4th to increase it by graduation, for seeking 3rd year internships 3.2 is probably what they'll go off of. So when there are kids with really high GPAs competing for IB/HF internships, will my PwC TS internship mitigate some of the damage done by the low GPA?
