Where to look for jobs in the bay area?

Or in general? i'm looking for an entry level job on the equity research side. i've e-mailed some companies my resume through their websites, but where else can i look? they say networking is the best bet, but that isnt really going to work for me. What do you think is the easiest entry level job in finance to get nowadays? coprporate finance or what? TIA!

You can check Doostang - they have some decent free listings in the Bay area, though you'll be able to see many more position if you fork over for the premium membership.

Yeah. I'm really starting to notice the short-comings of graduating from a "non-target" school. Furthermore, my GPA is subpar by the standards of the industry. I spent all my time through the last years of high school and all throughout college trading in the markets and such with family money that I just wasn't focused on school. I never even intended to get a job after stellar returns in 2004-2007. But 2008 was the death knell, and here I am now... On a damn message board asking about getting a job. (great message board btw, nothing against it). The markets can bring you down to your knees in no time.

If anyone has any info on jobs in the Bay Area they know about feel free to email me at [email protected] . I got examples of research and such.

There are associate jobs in SF (I know of several on top of my head from both BB and MM), but most require industry experience or an MBA. If you have absolutely no experience at all, you might want to start off as an ER assistant. Depending on the right analyst, s/he may give you more responsibilities and you'll eventually be promoted to an associate. You should also check out craigslist.org. I've come across entry level associate jobs from time to time.
