Question for the front office personnel of WSO
Hey everyone,
I've been working in risk for the last 1.5 years at a long short equity fund and have decided to go back to school to try and get a shot at trading rates (non EM) or fx derivatives. I'm currently deciding between the Masters in Mathematical finance degree at NYU Courant and the MFin at MIT. I'm just curious as to what kinds of backgrounds you or your fellow traders have so I can get a little more colour and make a more informed decision.
For those who are unfamiliar with the programs the primary difference is the level of quant: NYU is hardcore quant (stochastic calc etc..) and very rigorous and MIT is more balanced with a heavier focus on general finance.
Thanks for wisdom!
