Question on Salary

Hello,

This is my first post! So I am currently an applicant who is 'under review' at Goldman Sachs. While I am extremely excited on the progress (especially in this job market, or lack thereof!), it has been really difficult to find out any reliable salary information on the jobs I am seeking. I have researched everything from CNN to Forbes to WSOasis and beyond, trying to find some reliable salary data. However, each site or blog says something different - from 50K/year to 150K/year, with everything in between.

Please help if you have reliable data or know who does! Thank you so much!

(Below are the specific job titles that I'm interested in/being reviewed for now):

  1. Global Investment Research - Latin America Equity Strategy - Business Analyst / Research Assistant

  2. Finance, Firmwide Strategy - Analyst

  3. IMD - GSAM - Fundamental Equity Product Management - Analyst/Associate

  4. Equity Research - Financials - Large Cap Banks - Business Analyst

"Under review" is not progress. It just means you submitted an application.

GS starting salary should be $70k

He's right, there a tons of people "under review"...and yeah starting is $70

You could submit a blank application, and it would still be considered "under review."
??? and your point about my question on salary??? In fact, I did submit a blank application and no, it's not 'under review.' It's 'applied.' Again, thank you for making an inane response.

I hate to break it to you but "under review" means nothing. It's probably the stage the put you in and then leave you there forever. Banks very very rarely acknowledge the online applications. You're going to need some connections.

Seesh....I hope the 5 of you have better analytic skills on your job! If you noticed my question was not about the meaning of the two words 'under review,' but a specific question on salary for specified jobs. FYI I have inside connections................and the rest of my applications still say "applied" while these say "under review."

Drexelalum11 said that starting salary is 70k, that is going to be for all revenue generating positions (ie IBD, IMD, Securities). For a first year analyst at any top place, the starting salary will be 70k. The bonus will vary, but no one on here is going to give you reliable numbers. I hope your connections are very strong, because there is no difference between under review and applied, and both full time recruiting and summer recruiting are basically over.

I did a summer internship at Goldman and I confirm that "under review" is NOTHING. It's better than "applied" but under review only means it has not been sent to trash yet but it could happen any time soon, or not.

But keep the faith, believe in yourself and your internal connections.

Ok your right we all have horrible analytical skills.....Let us know when you make partner at Goldman.
