Recommendation Questions: 2012-2013
Hi,
Can we use this thread to post all the recommendation questions asked in each of the top bschools' 2012 applications (for fall 2013 entry)? I've included Harvard's and Stanford's to get this thread started. Please make sure that the questions are for this year's application and not for previous years!!
Harvard:
Our general advice is that two out of three recommendations should be from your professional life - ideally one of those should come from a current or recent supervisor.
1. Please comment on the context of your interaction with the applicant. If applicable, briefly describe the applicant's role in your organization. (250 words)
2. How does the candidate's performance compare to other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? (250 words)
3. Please describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response. (250 words)
4. Please make additional statements about the applicant's performance, potential, or personal qualities you believe would be helpful to the MBA Admissions Board. (250 words)
Stanford:
Two professional/workplace reference and one peer reference.
1. Please comment on the context of your interaction with the applicant. If applicable, briefly describe the applicant's role in your organization.
2. Please describe a time when the applicant changed your thinking or actions.
3. Please describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant's response.
4. Please make additional statements about the applicant's performance, potential, or personal qualities you believe would be helpful to the MBA Admissions Office.
Can others post the questions for the other top schools? Wharton, MIT, UChicago, Columbia, Northwestern. Much appreciated.
