Reconciliation Associate?
Hi, I'm currently completing a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) at the University of Sydney and recently have a very good chance at securing a full time position in the Treasury and Commodities department of an IB. I believe the job role if for a Reconciliation Associate but duties basically involve ensuring fraud isn't taking place with company funds, handling transactions etc Definetly a back office position though.
My university marks aren't the best at the moment, and even if I do improve them over the remainder of my degree, I feel with the current state of the job market I'll still have a slim chance of securing a front office position.
So I could take the job (hopefully I get it, my 1st interviewer said I am practically guaranteed the job and have my second interview in 5 days), attend university part-time and finish in 3 years (with better marks hopefully) + experience as opposed to 1.5 years and no experience.
But I have been reading it is hard to transfer out of back office. These topics mainly concern grad's that have entered through BO, while I'll be doing whilst I study. Upon graduation do you think I have a chance of changing to FO?
