Reneging in Reverse
So here's an original topic.
Anyway, I know most reneging topics are usually based on the premise, "I wanna say 'Fuck Off' to Big 4/F500 Rotation/MM for a BB opportunity," or something along those lines.
Well, I'm trying to get out.
I have a BB offer. I've accepted/signed. I recruited this year, and managed to secure a job at a top Proprietary Trading firm. I think the work would be more my speed (Read: Not mind-numbingly tedious), but I'm wondering... Just how small a world is finance?
I know reneging from one to BB to another is probably misguided, but should I be okay in this circumstance?
I figure there must be at least one other poor soul my bank could call up to fill my shoes. It's just -- If I stayed in banking, I think there's a high likelihood I'd lose 15 IQ points.
BB trading or IBD? You'll learn more at a BB trading desk than a prop. Also I'd check on the attrition rates at the prop shop. If it's BB IBD vs. prop, I say go with your heart.
If you're signed for BB IBD and want to do prop... then I say go for it.
I don't know if this adds value or not; however, studies show people regret what they didn't do at the end of their life more than what they did. Shake it up.
Reneg away. no one will care/remember.
That poor soul is me haha
Is either offer through OCR?
What did you decide?
I know there are many references on this site to college career offices getting involved if an employer notifies them of a reneged offer, but does anyone have any actual examples of this happening?
Why don't you just fail or refuse to take the drug test?
