Requesting connections--include in thank you note?

I'm making a thank you note to the MD for taking me in as an investment banking intern this summer. Would it be appropriate to ask for more connections in the future? He actually said explicitly that I should consider working for a bigger firm to get exposed to debt & IPO's since this bank I interned at only does m&a.

I would say take it easy and send him that note. In the future, try to establish a relationship with him and try to get him wanting to help you. Mentor role so to speak.

If everything fails, just ask him whether he can help you to meet or connect with other people in the industry because of your future career interests.

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA
