Resume Blip

So I've been interviewing for a while. Come real close in final rounds with a couple of different companies but I get the same question in every interview. "You were at this place for 2 months". Now I'm not saying it was the reason i didn't get the jobs but the company was terrible, fit, people, culture, hours etc.. It has been written up in the Real Deal and some people do know that it is an excusable fault for someone to make. Should I take it off my resume, should I leave it on? If I take it off will it come up in a background check? How many companies do a background check/ employment check for a lateral hire?
