Resume uestion - Participating in Securities Spring Program
I'm participating in the GS Securities Spring Program in a few weeks. I'm also applying for other programs with other firms. Should I put the GS program on my resume even though I haven't done it yet? What about the fact that it shows that I might be less interested in the other firms (even though I'm not)?
You haven't done it yet, so what do you put on the bullet points under the line item? Also, it seems just a bit unprofessional if I were reading your resume.
i saw people's resumes that said something like
Merrill Lynch - Currently a summer analyst in the Consumer Goods Investment Banking Group
but then again, they were already working there.
id say no, but u do what you gotta do.
The world has changed. And we must change with it.
I'm curious what what your opinions are on this line on the resume (with the same scenario was the OP):
Goldman Sachs & Co - accepted into the 2009 spring securities program
If you were applying to other internships, would this add to your attractiveness as a candidate?
Don't put it under work experience (as someone else said, throw it under activities or something until you actually do it)
It won't hurt, but it's really not much of a boost
DEFINITELY put it on your resume. Either under Activities section, or temporarily rename your Work Experience section to something like "Work Experience and Activities." Make sure GS part is noticeable (don't put it on the last line of you resume).
