Resume Review for Financial Services
Anyone really want to provide some harsh criticism for my resume? i really want to get involved in Asset Management, hopefully at a smaller boutique firm and I'm not very confident in the strength of my resume. In the meantime, I am working on obtaining a part-time school-year asset/wealth management internship in Boston.
Add some horizontal lines. They make reading much easier.
You tell me what's wrong with this line:
"Music: play piano and guitar, Traveling, Financial Market Research & Trading, Weightlifting"
thank you! i left those lines in as I think they're useful conversation topics with people I network with, but it's probably better to remove that section. it actually seems pretty silly now.
He wasn't saying take it out, just pointing out that you put "Traveling, Financial Market Research & Trading, Weightlifting" under "Music"
typically number and email address are placed on the same line. I give 2 lines at top beneath my name..3 is just weird. btw you should black out some of the named stuff on Paint, you're giving way to much of personal info
also the inconsistent capitalization. it's these small things that tell me (and likely a resume screener) whether you have an attention to detail, are meticulous, etc. I personally see it as a huge ding when there are formatting, syntax, spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors on a resume.
thank you very much for the advice everyone! I did my best to correct the Interests section as well as several inconsistencies in capitalization. if there's anything else that needs correcting, let me know. I updated the resume file to showcase a few of these corrections.
