Resume Review Need Help Immediately (sorry for the immediately part)

Hi,
I commute and pay out of my own pocket for Baruch College. I am unfortunately not in the Honors Program. Due to some personal circumstances such as my mother's cancer scare in my sophomore year and adjusting to commuting from Rockland County to NYC my GPA is a 3.2. However, I am working on raising this to at least a 3.5 which I know is the minimum, and there are those from my college that have 3.9's, and obviously Harvard and Penn State with perfect GPA's. I have received no replies from any internship I have applied to through my school's career center website. I want to improve my resume so even with the low GPA it gets somewhat of a look. Over the summer I researched and was able to intern at a local CPA firm. They kept me on as an on-call member because they were impressed by my work ethic.

What I want- Please critique as much as possible, and give me suggestions on improvement. I want to get a position at either a Big 4 or JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs. I don't have the financial resources to get a paid resume review so I would appreciate any good free help I can get (yeah I know I'm one of million) but please do give what you can.

Here's a position description of an internship I am aiming for, perhaps this will help in tailoring a resume suggestion :

First, remove all personal information before posting on WSO.

I'd break up the BBA and Masters. You are undermining yourself putting a masters candidacy in the same area as your bachelors. Remove your GPA, too. I am not sure why it is bolded when it is low. I'd also remove "Related Coursework" because those are introductory classes (and most request a transcript anyway).

I'd put Work Experience above Leadership. Remove the retail job, too. It doesn't say much that you sold shoes or that the store placed in district contests.

Rename "Technical Experience" to "Skills." Technical experience sounds straight up IT and weird. Mention your proficiency in C++.

Remove extracurricular activities. I see this all of the time on resumes and I am not sure why it has any place. Okay, so you read a few publications and build sandcastles - put bluntly, who cares? How is that going to have any effect on your work performance?

Importantly: Don't make up excuses for any of it. If you land an interview, don't mention that you pay for college yourself or that you commute and that's why you have a bad GPA. Find out a way to tell a story where you can own it and it isn't a deficit to you.

It is very unlikely that you will receive an interview at JPM, GS, or the big four this cycle. I'd focus on nailing an internship every semester until next year when recruiting comes around again. If you can throw another 2-3 professional places on your resume, you'll be in a better position.

I understand. I am not the type to make excuses but I have been told to have a story just in case, but I understand what you are saying. Also, I get that I have no shot at a Big 4 or JPM or GS but I have a question about the GPA, first if I leave it off isn't that suspicious? They actually had a JPM session at my college and said don't put a 2.9. I know 3.2 is terrible but just wondering when I should put my GPA and if leave it out if it will raise any red flags. I will work on the corrections that you mentioned. In terms of formatting do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much for your time.

Yes, you need a story, but a story isn't a whine-y rant. Say you did X, Y, Z. Don't say that you had A circumstance, which made you have X, and limited you from B.

Personally, I wouldn't list a GPA unless it was a 3.65 or higher. Your resume is meant to represent your best impression. A weak GPA is like having meeting them with a stain on your shirt. If you leave your GPA out, it won't raise any red flags. They'll assume that it is less than a 3.5/3.6, but it'll show that you think that you have stronger attributes. If you look at a resume and see a 3.8 at the top, you'll be more likely to look for the best in everything. If you see a 3.2, then you are likely to assume the same ethic for each experience. If you don't have a GPA, they'll know it isn't great, but that there are redeeming qualities throughout the resume. It is all about priming.

CUNY Baruch College, Expected 2016 Masters in X.

CUNY Baruch College, Expected 2015 BBA in X, Minor in X.

It'll make you look more educated, and if you have a masters, no one cares about your undergraduate GPA. That's not to say to ruin it, but it isn't as relevant.
