Modelling/thinking about retail co's
Hey all,
Switching sectors and ramping up. Fairly easy businesses to think about and model from the outside, but just wanted to get a sense of what good resources are out there for getting up to speed. Retail is fairly nuance driven i.e. margin compression due to markdowns, etc, B+O leverage- haven't dealt much with that type of stuff, used to thinking of more macro driven business models, so any advice would help!
If anyone knows of any good resources for covering the space- websites, books, whatever let me know. Will make the transition easier and speed it up.
Thanks!
I cant think of any specific resources but retail (while there are important nuances) is fairly straight forward with the focus being on merchandising, inventory control, box productivity (sales psf, 4-wall EBITDA, etc.) and real estate (owned, ground-leased or leased). If you have any specific questions let me know or PM me.
