Retaking McKinsey PST
So I've taken the McKinsey problem solving test before and "passed" in that I was moved onto the next round of interviews. In the end I didn't get the position. This was a couple years ago. Now I'm applying again and from the email it seems like I will be taking the PST again at the first round interviews. I was under the impression that they keep your scores and generally don't let you retake the test? Not that I want to--I'm not particularly worried that I won't do well, but there's always the chance that I'll have a bad day and "fail" the test. Should I say something?
I would tell them. You probably just got the same standard email that everyone got. Either that, or the recruiters don't realize you've already taken the test.
Position it like "I'm happy to retake the test, but just wanted to double-check that I do indeed need to take it again, given that I took it last time I went through the interview process."
Worst case, the recruiter just tells you that you need to take it again.
Good luck!
How long has it been exactly? I think your score is good for like 2 years, after which you retake it.
