Roark Capital - Private Equity

I had an investment banking internship over the summer at a BB and have an offer to go back. But I'm really just interested in the buy side. Currently, a middle market private equity firm (3 billion USD) is recruiting at my school. I was wondering if anyone has heard of Roark Capital? If so, how would you rank them in terms of prestige? Would it be wise to let go of a BB offer in order to pursue MM PE? What are my exit opps going to be like? I would like to be at a megafund at some point. Would I still be able to make a lateral move to Blackstone/KKR/carlyle/tpg?

I summered at a MM PE firm and from talking to some of the senior folks, I learned that there are benefits to going through invesment banking before going to the buy-side. The network you create, especially at a firm with high deal flow iwilil become helpful later on when you are on the buyside looking for good deals. Not to mention that if you need to raise a fund, its always better to be well connected than not connected at all.

I am no expert by any means, but I'm providing you with something to think about.
