Salaries in Asset Management
I am a Product Manager in the tech industry (silicon valley) with a base salary of 170K and all in compensation of 200K.
I am looking into move into Asset Management post my MBA. I am particularly interested in finance post-MBA but I am curious about the salaries in asset management. Equity research and asset management both interest me.
Could someone help me understand the salaries in asset management from analyst through director at firms such as TD etc.
Thanks
Every decent MBA program has an annual employment report, not a bad place to start for post-MBA salary expectations across various functions. More senior roles are hard to define due to high variance between career paths, employers, and the fact the comp is largely variable as well.
if you don't mind me asking - how old are you?

I'm 30.
Isn't there a generic on average pay for each level I could refer to? I hear that bonuses in equity research are lowering a lot etc.
sorry, ER isn't my space
You might have to take a pay cut, maybe someone else can chime in.
I work at an alt asset manager (high yield bonds and loans) and not a traditional mutual fund but I would guess post-MBA starting compensation is near your current comp ($150-200K depending on AUM) with a much higher potential trajectory but minus the options of your tech co. Within 5 years, assuming you are progressing, you should have senior coverage of a specific industry/sector and at least double your starting comp, if not 3x or more.
