Salaries in ER?
I am a Product Manager in the tech industry (silicon valley) with a base salary of 170K and all in compensation of 200K.
I am looking into move into ER post my MBA. I am particularly interested in finance post-MBA but I am curious about the salaries in ER. Equity research and Asset Management both interest me.
Could someone help me understand the salaries in asset management from analyst through director at good firms.
I meant salaries in ER.
not sure
I think you would be taking an initial step down in total comp if you were to join sell-side equity research. Maybe flat.
Post MBA, as far as London goes, at current FX rates it's something like $85k with your bonus being realistically up to 2/3 of your base (if you're lucky).
I have several friends who received sell-side equity research offers this past year post MBA. JP Morgan paid $125k base salary with bonus guidance of ~50% of base salary. Evercore paid $130k base salary (unknown what bonus would be). Buy-side equity research pays much more than sell-side typically. For example, base salary at most mutual funds is $130k to 150k, $25k to $50k signing bonus, and bonus may be 100% of base salary your first year out of business school.
I can confirm this part. Sell side comp also tends to be much more variable based upon how the broker is doing in any given period.
