Science route to Wall Street? Advice or insight?

I'm currently working on my undergraduate degree at the moment. I'm majoring in Cell and Molecular Biology, and possibly doubling with Economics (at least a minor in Econ). My question is, what would be the best route for me to get into the business world? Would a PHD route leading to research, for example in pharmaceuticals be a solid start, then eventually try and work my way to Wall Street in consulting or something along those lines? Is this realistic or not? Are there any industries you foresee to have growth, or a need for jobs in the science realm in Wall Street?

I'm still up in the air in what I would like to do, but business/ Wall Street has always been an interest of mine, but it would be very unlikely for me to get to Wall Street the traditional finance route. I'm debating between an MD and a PHD. I would be very happy working as an MD, but would also like to explore my options of a PHD in the business world. So if you have any insight on this, any and all would be appreciated. Also, don't be afraid to tell me how it is, I'd rather know now that this route is unrealistic now than a few years down the road.
Thanks in advance!

I think you should figure out what you wanna do more specifically and go after it. Uncertainly and the desire to keep options open can be detrimental. Also note that if you wanna work in high finance right out of school the fact that you study a science shouldn't inhibit that.
