seeking advice for career switch(a new analyst for Wholesale banking)
Hi, everybody. I am a new management trainee for BAML ,and oriented in wholesale banking, client fulfillment and service. It is a great program actually, but I have to admit that after weeks of training and on-boarding, I found little interest in commercial banking with middle office stuff.
I have interned in several Asset Management and private equity firms and really enjoy the time. I am planning to switch from my commercial banking to asset management career, so I have been preparing my CFA® and AICPA tests, and ready for application of a MBA degree( I studied literature in my undergraduate school, so I recently started to learn more about IT, such as Python and Matlab; as well as statistics) I understand that a quantative background will give me some advantages.
So can I finally land in a position in asset management firms, if I can carry out my plan smoothly? Is there any aspects I need to pay attention to or improve? Many thanks for your help!!!
