To Those Who went through SEO Phone interview

I just had mine and I am not pleased with it. If the interviewer did not say that I make it to the next round, does that mean I just got cut? How many days after the phone interview do you receive an email saying you made it to the next round? Thanks for the info in advance.

I had a phone interview in early December and it went good enough for me to think I was getting a call back. However, I have not received an e-mail. I know of one person that received a call back after the phone interview in 2 weeks, then received an offer a few days later.

I don't know how competitive it is to go from round one to round two in SEO. It shouldn't matter because to get the offer is the hardest part. So you didn't like the first round, don't worry so much about. Right now, it's past and you need to focus on your next set of applications.

There are plenty of summer opportunities for diversity candidates. If you want a direction to go for, just PM me and we'll take this dialogue off line.

In the meantime, keep meeting professionals from across Wall Street. You'll at least learn one new thing from each experience.

You might want to check out this youtube channel I have posted in my profile from Manchester:

they have some short videos on the do's and don'ts of interviewing...

I had my phone interview in mid-december and I was invited for the 2nd round in-person only last week. My interviewer didn't explicitly tell me I was through to the next round, but she did end the interview with tips on how to prepare for it.

You guys have to remember that SEO is a non-profit organization, which means they aren't heavily staffed. If you don't hear back from them immediately, chances are they're busy interviewing other applicants or preparing for second rounds.

I personally was notified of my second-round offer on the next business day (I interviewed on Friday). However, I know people who didn't hear back for 2-3 weeks.

Last Year I applied as a sophomore and got a phone interview and they told me to an email will be send out about my in person interview right away.  I went to the second round, but that was it.

I applied this year again, but didn't get anything.  Don't know why, I thought I have a stronger resume as I worked at a top BB the summer before (through my own internship hunting)..

One thing you have to make sure is --> emphasize that you are sure what you want to do and why you want to do it.

Thanks! I found it when I kept searching google. I guess my question is, if I'm a literature major and I know like almost nothing specific about banking, will they ask me weird industry questions?
