series 7 summary
If any one is taking the Series 7 this summer, you might find this useful. I condensed the first half of the empire stock broker institute book. If any one finds the first half useful, I'll post the second part some time next week. Also, for those who are taking the CFA,I was wondering if you found the investopedia summary comprehensive.
Good luck to all those interning this summer!

Definitely helpful man. Anything else you could post/provide insight to would be appreciated!
Series 7 is cake. I took it (in 2006) 2 months into my s&t gig... as a political science major who could barely calculate P/E given p and e. Know the options stuff and youll be fine.
Give me a couple days I'll post the second part, trying to juggle classes/CFA/internship/7 so its gonna take a while. I don' disagree, however I found it tedious to have to read the book more than once (500 pages), so I decided to just consolidate it on a first time read and then memorize what I wrote. Any one with a background in finance should not have a hard time.
Investopedia guide I feel is just scratching the surface, very broad and general.
Studied for a total of 72 hours, took the test and got an 87%. Was extremely pissed that I overshot myself by 17 points and probably could have shaved about 12 hours off my study time.
clutch notes.. silver banana for you! any update on second part? (dont expect anything til after the cfa tomorrow.. good luck btw)
thanks!
oh, and for anyone who has taken it, how much prep time do you recommend? my background: recent grad as of may 2010, majored in finance so familiar with financial topics, not so much regulations and whatnot
Thanks, I'll finish typing it tomorrow night, it should be posted by Monday.
Thanks... I've got to start prepping too. Hoping its going to be child's play compared to the CFA studying.

Hope you guys find this useful.
Thanks for this I have some notes I can post as well. I'll be looking to take this within the next 2 weeks after just getting finished with CFA studying. I'll get back with you all.
