Should I put my ACT score on my resume for investment banking?
Here are my scores:
ACT Composite: 32/36
ACT Superscore: 33/36
SAT Math Level II: 800/800
Do you think that these score are good enough to put on a resume for applying to junior summer internship programs?
If so, which score(s) should I put?
Thanks!
Are you asking if there's something better than a 99th percentile? The answer in that case is no. If you're asking whether or not to put scores on your resume, the logic is something like: no for seniors, yes if they're good for junior and below.
Wouldn't bother with the SAT II Math 2 score. Everyone gets 800 on that.
I wouldn't bother with the ACT scores.
Goldman asks for it in its online app, so I don't think anybody will look at you like you have two heads if you add it
it's not necessary, but i don't think anyone would ding you for it. i know some people who include their sat scores (composite, no sat 2s) and i think the theory behind it is standardized testing can be an objective measure of some basic analytical ability.
Put your GPA and save space for work history and leadership roles. High school scores don't matter in junior recruiting.
ACT score arrogance? (Originally Posted: 09/20/2007)
I know there are mixed feelings on this one, but is it acceptable to put an ACT score / high school class rank / high school GPA on a resume?
Also, what is a resume worthy ACT score?
Sometimes/no/no
freeloader - when do you think it is acceptable, and what do you think is a resume-worthy ACT score?
The only time I've seen act/sat scores on resumes is when they are very high. I would say at least a 34 act score.
I was asked my ACT score in an interview last week. I honestly couldnt remember what I got. I took it twice and just have forgotten about it... It was good enough to get me into a decent school, and thats all I cared about at the time... I still dont understand why banks, or anyone for that matter, care what your ACT score was... I took the exam 7 years ago. At the time I was more interested in varsity football, girls, avoiding cops at underage parties, and was barely out of puberty (probably not even yet)... If that really has any weight on hiring and who a bank thinks I am today then oh well, tough luck for me. But lets hope thats not the case
Just my feelings on it all
Eh, nothing particularly wrong with High School GPA/rank provided you waste 0 space getting it on there. Once you're out in the real world it's not a big deal, if you're applying for summer stuff from Freshman-Junior they might appreciate that little bit more history.
ACT Score > 32 or 33 usually looks decent. Less people are familiar with ACT scoring, so it's not as helpful, imo.
