Sophomore Internship leading to MBB?

Hey everyone,
I'm a sophomore who is interested in eventually landing an internship/job at an MBB firm, and I'm wondering what sort of internships I should ideally aim to get for my sophomore summer. What would prepare me best for landing an MBB offer my junior summer? Any insight or advice would be appreciated.

Assuming top target Ivy means HYP (there is really no reason not to say that), 3.5 is really iffy for a MBB internship interview unless you are an engineering major.

Depends on the NGO, is it well-known (at least among those who know about these things)? The Sophomore internship is pure signalling, no one really expects you to learn much as a result of it, but wants to see that you have the maturity and sense to be a part of a serious organization. Also, like the guy above me said, a 3.5 is pretty iffy.

This doesn't directly answer your question, but have you ruled out a potential internship at a consulting firm? If you start networking now, I'm sure you can land something at a non-MBB firm. I don't actually know if that would look better than IBD, but it seems more relevant so I'd think it would.
