Sophomore Spring Internship...what do u guys think?

Hello. Im a sophomore going to a target school and wanting to get into IBD or S&T . I have absolutely no relevant finance work experience so I started applying to places this semester and got a few offers.

One of the offers that I have accepted was at a small Firm which is primarily a real estate investment group but the interviewer told me that this internship would be really unique in the sense that they also have a small private wealth management business, a PE side and are also partnered or part (im not sure how i could say that) of a HF and as an intern I would be exposed to all sides of this. She also told me that although I would gain knowledge of all these things (working directly under the MD) It was more like a Jack of All trades internship instead of a focused one. Since I am a sophomore I was hoping that general exposure to all these things in this single internship would help me get a SA internship this summer o maybe the next as well as helping me learn more about Finance in general and that which side of Finance would be better for me.

Now I was wondering whether I am right in assuming so? I know its not a BB just a small firm but the internship itself sounds kinda unique and I would be able to write alot on my resume about my experiences in the firm. What are your thoughts on the internship? Or should I not do this internship? Any type of feedback will be really appreaciated. Thanks!

I would say go for it, 100 %. You might not be able to find such an opportunity again where you would be exposed to so many sides of the business: investments/PE/HF. Especially considering you would be working with the MD. And who knows? You might meet people that have previously worked at BB Banks or even people who have connections to people that work at BB Banks. Bottom Line: your a sophomore and the experience would probably be extremely beneficial for the learning aspect as well as your resume.
