Sophomore Summer - No internship- should I be worried?

Hi,

I am a sophomore at a target school going into my junior year. However, because i was so focused on getting my grades up this past semester ( I now stand at a 3.7), I don't currently have any internship position for this summer.

I want to be in a good spot for IB recruiting season next year. I currently have 1 IB boutique internship that I did in the beginning of my soph year, 1 trading platform internship (where i basically held a fictional stock portfolio last summer, and 2 university leadership positions - one at a finance club).

What should I do from here to be in a good shape for recruiting season? I feel like I don't have enough under my belt to keep up with my peers. Am I screwed at this point? Thanks.

Nice, I was going to apply but it was all up in the middle of finals. I trade small cap stocks anyhow though, but it sounded pretty neat. But I hear you about keeping up with your peers. My limited amount of Ivy friends ('16) already have BB/EB internships as sophomores - but you're at a target (how target-y?), just network and speak about your boutique experience in a crafty way. I see people with one MS PWM at targets later getting banking SA.

you're fine. at least do SOMETHING this summer (would suggest doing study abroad btw). doing something like PWM could acutally hurt you when you're trying to explain why you want IB when you went from boutique ib --> pwm --> ib sa recruiting.

make sure to network over this summer. your paper stats are good enough to get you into interviews if oyu network.
