S&P Historical Constituents
Guys,
Does anyone have an excel file with the S&P 500 constituents as of year end for the past 20 years? I don't have access to Compustat, WRDS or bloomberg and would really appreciate someone posting this.
Thanks in advance!
I know that this post is really old, but I'm still hoping that you can share with me whether you arrived at the information you needed and, if so, how?
S&P 500 Components Price Historical Data (Originally Posted: 12/07/2014)
Hi all,
I am looking for a database that would allow me to download the historical stock price (for at least 10 years) of each of the 502 components of the SP 500. I don't mind if I have to pay for it as I would like to avoid loosing some days in appending 502 stock data one by one...
Thanks a lot !
Had a similar need for a project I was doing a while ago, if you know VBA that is a huge help, can't post links yet on WSO because I'm 'too new' but if you Google "Multiple Stock Quote Downloader for Excel" it was posted by "Samir Khan". Worked back when I used it..
Where can I get 60 months S&P 500 companies data? (Originally Posted: 08/17/2012)
Hi
I taking financial modelling course and I'm trying to construct an efficient portfolio using financial modelling and I need 60 months data for S&P 500 companies .. Anyone knows where can I get them?
what kind of data? for stock prices and stuff yahoo finance is a good source, but if you are looking for accurate financial statement data you should read the companies' 10-k
Factset, Bloomberg, datastream, etc.
nasdaq and morningstar can give you excel files for free if you dont have bloomberg or any of those softwares. its pretty good. morningstar will even give you financial statements in excel ready to go.
[My first post]: Looking for ER Data (Originally Posted: 03/20/2015)
Hello Everyone,
I am in the early stages of writing my dissertation, or thesis for those of you in the US, and I need to collect data about companies which have joined and left the S&P 500 over a 10-15 year period. I did find one study, but it was really short and unreliable, in my opinion. So, would anyone here happen to know where I can find such information? I'll upvote, or whatever it is that we can do here to promote your answers :)
Thank you
Bump. I would really appreciate some help :)
Oh, and I should mention that I have access to a Bloomberg Terminal, in-case that helps.
Anyone? I'd really appreciate the help.
