Startup Internship? --> IB?

Hey all,

Still looking for an internship in banking and its been pretty rough. I'm a sophomore at a non-target with highish GPA (3.7) in honors program as an econ major but also taking corp fin and investment analysis this semester and AMT training in modeling and valuation.

A friend of mine might be able to get me a paid internship in business development at a NYC startup (has around $10 million in funding and around 13 people), which includes building pitchbooks, assisting with general strategy and financial models, sitting in on partnership meetings, and attending networking events.

Is this better than a PWM internship? Would this make my chances of getting an IB internship next summer as a junior even tinier? Would it be worth passing this up and continuing to search for boutique banking internships?

Thanks to all for any ideas or advice.

Hell yeah. This definitely beats a PWM internship hands down. (I did UBS PWM while I was in your shoe. I feel so old.) That internship would definitely help out more than PWM internship. Congrats on getting that offer. Do keep me posted when you are in NYC. I am based off NYC. You just need to focus on talking about the internship when you are interviewing for next year.

I am doing the UBS PWM and get the same feeling with you. the starup internship you mentioned is alike IB one. So, go grab it!
