Status of Job Market in London

Hey Monkeys.

I've heard that Europe is pretty slow at the moment, which is surprising to me as the job boards seem to be a bit more active (compared to other countries I am looking at). Is it true that hiring is slowing down? I am asking because I am thinking of relocating, after taking a few weeks of vacation to try and secure a role.

Also, can anyone let me know what the demand for experienced Analysts is right now? Is new hiring coming to a close?

Thanks guys.

Uh... wrong thread there buddy

Wait until bonuses are paid, then things'll pick up. Lots of people waiting around to get paid, or not, as the case may be.

Thanks, Oreos. Is this typically at a particular time of the year?

Depends by bank and seniority, but generally bonuses are being thought about this time of year into the spring. Have heard of Snr guys getting paid off cycle to their juniors. As a data point, BAML big wigs have gone off to the US to chat about the pathetic bonus pool this year.....
