stock trading demo
Hello all!
Been reading these forums for a few weeks, and this is my very first post.
I was watching shows like Wall Street Warriors, and in season 2 they had new recruits practicing on a stock day trading demo to simulate real life markets. Are there any trustworthy demo's out there for nontraders, such as myself, to use? What I'm essentially asking if there's any demos that follow real market prices and orders, but allows you to use mock money.
Thank you for reading, have a nice day =)
Create a portfolio on Google Finance. http://www.google.com/finance/portfolio?action=view&pid=1
You can give yourself as much money as you want to start out and put in mock transactions.
I don't know of any mock stock trading demos. But if you are interested in learning how to trade currencies and want to create a demo account these are a few websites that offer 100% free, no risk trading account that gives you 50k to trade with. I recently started a forum about this but whatever, dosent matter. Here are the links:
www.fxcm.com
www.forex.com
www.gftforex.com
www.fxdd.com
Just create an account and your good to go, some of these sites also have educational content that teaches you the basics about the forex market and some tips etc. I personally have used fxcm.com before and it was pretty cool. I'm going to tryout fxdd.com though seems like a nice layout. Have fun and trade away, best way to see markets move firsthand and good way to learn
Hey thanks for replying so quickly. I've tried Interbank FX trader 4, and it seems pretty cool. I was essentially looking for something like that, but for the stock market. I just wanted to see how the stock markets moved. I already have a real portfolio with TD waterhouse. I just wanted to see them move first hand.

3 GREAT ones:
I prefer Think or Swim as it is the most realistic and has been helping me a lot.
Think or swim is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much
https://fxtrade.oanda.com/your_account/fxgame/
this is exactly what you are looking for. it doesn't expire, and the fx markets trade 23 hours a day five days a week so you can get plenty of practice day trading or taking long term positions
yup Oanda is good.. so is gft
For stock trading, you can use updown.com, it tracks the real volume, and you earn real money if you beat the market every month. Good Luck!
Also, if you want a legit sim account, check out OpenECry.com, and sign up for their simulated account.
When I first started, I did so on updown.com Loved it! It also allows you to host trading competitions with friends, which makes the starting days more fun and competitive.
This is surely very very informative thread. Forex.com is my favorite.
