Student Inestor
Hi
(New to this forum please forgive any mistakes I make)
So a few friends and I enlisted in the ifs student investor challenge through school, where you're given a 100k portfolio to make as much return as possible in 3 months.
We made 10% which we thought was pretty good (considering 8% a year is considered pretty decent, (am I right?).
However the the team that came first (from Eton college) made 300% return!!! In three months. Looking at their graphs it was a consistent 20 or so each fortnight so It can't have been just one lucky trade. How is this even possible?? Am I missing something big here?
Thanks in advance for any help
Luck and risk... No secrets to this game if u get 300pct returns. Youre not skilled if you get 300% returns, you're skilled if your risk-adjusted returns are high.
since this year ifs student investor have started using prices that are delayed. so all you do is buy before you see a rise. those at 300k are cheats. Before this year the prices were not delayed. you can tell because the market has been crap this year and 300% is a joke
Think about their parents. Who can afford 30k+GBP per child a year to send them to Eton? Many hedge fund traders, corporate execs earn enough, they most likely have inside information and hence can make mega returns.
You think these kid's parents are helping them to insider trade on a fake trading platform?
