Super Bowl Predictions

Well now that we are through with the conference championship games and have our two SB picks, time to turn into a sports analyst and argue with friends and family for a couple of weeks about who's gonna win.

Patriots have the eternal, forever lasting, handsome QB in Tom Brady, a backfield full of no name but impressive backs, a TE who already is being heralded as the greatest to ever play the game at the position and a defense that has one of the best corners of all time and a decent line.

Seahawks have the Legion of Boom, possibly one of the best defenses in NFL history, a RB who runs like a man possessed, and a QB who is one of the most clutch in the league.

I am going with Patriots because I feel they are a much more complete team on both sides of the ball and are much more experienced. What about you?

Still giddy from the Patriots' massive win.

It's going to be close I think. Seahawks' defense and running game is better (although LaGuerette Blount was an absolute beast today) while the Patriots have a better QB, O-line and receivers. I was rooting hard for the Packers today because I think the Patriots could have beaten them fairly easily while the hawks will be a struggle.

Tom Brady for MVP!

Love that new profile picture of Brady. So subtle.

I can safely say I hate all players on both teams besides maybe Russ and Gronk. I think this is the Pats year, this is the last ring of the Brady/Bellichick era and will put Brady above Peyton. Seahawks will have their time again, they are young and ruthless. Just give Russ a set of receivers and he will be even better. Pats just looked dominant today, Seahawks though played a game for the ages but Packers were the better team at CenturyLink.

Bro, Peyton won his only Super Bowl against Rex Grossman.. Brady is already way above Peyton and it's not even close.

I have to agree here. Peyton's postseason numbers are absolutely dismal. I mean, to put it into perspective, Peyton started 24 postseason games and has won 11. Brady started 28 and has won 20. Joe Flacco has only been in the league since 2008 and has 10 postseason wins in 15 starts. Peyton is a great QB, and will be a hall of famer, but he's not what you want to have to depend on to go all the way. I can't stand Brady, but he is damn good.

Don't discount the injuries the Seahawks defensive players during that Green bay game. Sure, they'll play, but certainly won't be at the capacity they were before. What worries me about the Seahawks is that lynch can run all over the pats and for some reason Wilson always manages to come up with a couple big plays; which generally is a formula that can beat the Patriots.

That said, I think with Gronk healthy and Brady on a war path I think they pull it out this year. Looking more and more like the teams of old which had strong defense and timely offensive plays from everyone.

It's a strange year when I'm rooting for the Pats. Like the GOP primary, I pick the one I dislike the least.

I think they've recaptured some of the old formula and unless Russell Wilson plays a lot better than he did for three and a half quarters yesterday, I don't think it'll be close.

Being a disappointed Cowboys fan I am gonna hate to admit it but the Pats are going to win. While the Seachickens had momentum and mental toughness it is difficult to defeat crisp execution and a very well integrated team.

35-20 Pats

Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum

Hawks 28-21. The defense is just too great, they gave up 1 TD yesterday to the unanimous MVP. Beast Mode will continue to run well and the receivers won't drop balls like they did yesterday. Russ is not going to throw 4 picks in 2 weeks.

I think it's going to be close. The Packers did not play that well yesterday due to McCarthy's conservative play calling. They left a ton of points on the board. The hawks defense is better, but hopefully Belichik will make some creative plays, and if LaGarrette Blount continues to do well, it will be a great matchup.

I hate the seahawks mainly because their fans are the biggest bandwagon jumpers in sports history.

a few random predictions:

Belicheck will have a monotone postgame interview Richard Sherman will yell at Erin Andrews or Charissa Thompson and it will be retweeted over 50,000 times Gronk will have sex with that girl who left Lazard for porn Marshawn will wear gold toe socks or gold laces to stick it to the league Russell Wilson will cry Brady will wear a high fashion sweater after the game

Pats in a close one: 28-24, Brady drives down the field down 24-21 and scores, on ensuing drive Seattle gives up a pick to Revis in a last ditch effort to win, clock runs out, bandwagon Seahawks fans purchase Revis jerseys.

I also hope Pete Carroll slips on a banana peel and breaks his tailbone or something.

(butthurt Packers fan here, just so you know my bias)

I'm almost started to feel bad for Packers fans but then I just laughed and laughed and laughed. I'm a Bears fan so that really was the highlight of my entire NFL season. Pack fan tears fuel me

This is a great match up. You have a last year's Super Bowl Champions vs. Belichek and Brady. I think the New England Patriots pull it out this year. Seattle has the best defense in the league but when you face the Patriots, it is all about offense. If Brady scores late in the game, can Seattle drive down the field with time expiring? I know this past weekend was UNBELIEVABLE, but up until the second half Wilson had a QBR of 0.0.

Look I love watching Brady lose (Giants Fan) but I think this is their year sadly.

I hope you're right! This is the best Pats team since 04. The 07 team was more explosive on the offensive front due to Randy Moss, but they weren't as well-rounded, especially on the defensive side. This is pretty much Brady's last chance to get the elusive 4th ring, so he can tie the great Joe Montana and cement his legacy.

I think the real difference between this year and years past is health. The Pats are finally healthy. Besides Gronk, they are a plug and play offense. They find people who fit their schemes. Blount is a perfect example.

I have a lot of respect for what they have done in New England...........that being said I HOPE THEY LOSE.

Honestly, the Hawks have no outside threats. Kearse/Baldwin would be the third receiver in almost any of the top offenses in the league and that too is a stretch. Guys like Davonte Adams are playing as third/fourth receiver in Green Bay, good to start as a top receiver. Revis would shut down any of them and Russ/Lynch would have to create magic. Might see a lot of rushing yards from Wilson but fluency offensively? Doubt it.

You do understand Seattle is a run-first team correct? Revis is great, but you are basically saying because he will shut down a receiver in a run-first offense, the Seahawks will lose. Interesting analysis...

I think he's saying that the Patriots can confidently line up 1-on-1 with Browner and Revis and just stack the box to try and slow down Lynch. If the Patriots do this and force Russell Wilson to try throw several hundred yards to Kearse/Baldwin on the Patriots secondary, I think he's right.

Pats -1, bet the house

Line opened at Sea -2.5, then somebody placed a 6 figure bet to sway the line almost immediately Sunday night.

That being said, regardless of who bet what I think Belichick will coach circles around Pete Carroll, the Pats corners matchup great against Seattle's below average wideouts, this will allow the Pats to stack the box to shutdown Lynch and play 1 on 1 outside. I think Pats -1 is a gift.

My prediction is that Tom and Bill will call for all of the Pats linemen to put habanero pepper paste on their hands to rub in the Seahawk players faces, and will have Reebok install a secret "Pump" in all of their cleats to give them a little edge.

Boggles my mind to see a team try to cheat against an opponent that doesn't stand a chance against them like the Colts. What a pile of douches. And to watch Brady tell the press that Baltimore needs to "get a rulebook". The Pats should try to at least abide by one every once in a while.

Oh fuck off.

Everyone with a brain would've known which receivers lining up at the offensive live had been declared eligible/ineligible by the Patriots (it's announced so that everyone in the building can hear it FFS). If you get fooled by the Patriots 'deception' it's because a) you're dumb, b) your defence is the slowest ever to pick up eligible/ineligible receivers, or c) a and b.

I hope the Seahawks lose simply because that bandwagon is so fucking full that I'm expecting to hear that a Seahawks Super Bowl win will simultaneously cure cancer, get Obama and the Republicans to get along, and convert hot lesbians into dick lovers all at once.

Also, I want to dust off the joke, "Did you hear about the massacre on the I-5? All the Seahawks fans fell off the bandwagon."

Really? Did I say that what the Patriots did with their shifts was against the NFL's rules? No, so you fuck off. What I'm talking about is some guy acting douchey to the media and laughing about Baltimore's ineptitude to understand the rules while they seem to do their best to cover up breaking them. Seahawks fans might be bandwagon fans, but don't get pissy with me when I just point out how much of a doucheturd combo Brady and Belichick are. They win a lot, but they obviously could give two shits how they do it. I think that if you made sure that they abided by all the rules, they would still win and would still have the edge, but they are still pricks about it.

Pats 31 Hawks 14. Pats offense is too dominant. Seahawks won't be able to keep up. Marshawn Lynch is a non-factor when you are down multiple scores and Russell Wilson is not built to come from behind. Pats secondary is significantly better and will be able to shut down Seahawk's no-name receivers. Gronk will be let loose!!!

Haha Wilson has the same amount of game-wnning drives/4th quarter comeback wins as Brady did during his first 3 seasons.

While I'll give you that, I view that more as a monumental GB collapse than a Seahawks comeback.

@"Winning Since 1776" Okay but this is not 3rd season Brady playing. Wilson still has a lot of developing to do and Brady is still in his prime.

Is Sherman going to play the whole field like the best DB in the league and true shut down corner does (Revis cough, cough)? Don't get me wrong, Sherman is nasty but I can't believe that punk refuses to cover WR #1 if he is on the other side of the ball. Absolute coward move. Revis will follow WR #1 all over the field and into the locker room.

Tough call, really have no idea where to go on this. I think it will be close, however I can see the Pats pulling through in the end. Just have been more consistently dominant in the post-season.

Pats fan here who was lucky enough to be at the AFC Championship game. Let it be known the only thing looking deflated out there were the Indianapolis Colts.

As for the Super Bowl, I'm gonna call this one an old fashioned coin flip: Heads - Pats win, Tails - Hawks lose.

Fawk the Hawks

I went to school in New England so I don't mind the Patriots, but the Seahawks share the same division as my team (49ers) so I have to show them some love too.

Honestly, I just hope it's a close, exciting game with lots of lead changes. Don't want it to be a one-sided game like last year's Superbowl in which the game is already over by the 3rd quarter.

Okay finally have some time to post, here we go

Prediction: 24 - 20, HAWKS Lynch 2 TDs, special teams or D 1 TD, 1 FG Patriots: 1 smooth drive early for at TD, another late in the 2nd quarter. 2 FG's, one in third, one in 4th q.

-Lynch Beastmode will be on another level like we haven't even seen before. Breaks record for most broken tackles in a superbowl. He will have 2 powerful td's, up the middle. MVP, yeah... -Our defense or special teams will have a huge play, may be the difference maker in the game. Look for one TD from them. Kam defensive MVP. -Patriots will really shake up Wilson and give him troubles, but he's not throwing 4 picks again. Look for him to be very conservative. Our passing game will be minimal. -Gronk will be hard to stop in the redzone, but we'll limit him to 1 TD. -Pats running game will be non existent. Passing game will strong, but won't win them the game. -Won't be surprised if Patriots take early lead, and could still be leading at half, but Lynch will wear down their d in the 4th quarter -Surprise plays? Both teams will pull out something if the game is tight going into the second half, -Kam won't be jumping over the line again but he'll be there in other ways...

Across America at most Super Bowl parties, there was the proverbial woman that didn't understand football. There was also a guy that made it his mission to get her to understand football by the end of the game. All of those women said in tandem, unbeknownst to themselves, "Why the hell are they throwing the ball??!!" WTF.

Did anyone else notice how they cut away from the touchdown celebration as soon as that hawks player acted like he was pulling his pants down to shit out the ball?
