Who do you think will make it and who do you think will win?

Ravens vs. Eagles

Ravens win 23-17

Before i even make my picks, I'm compelled to show you why your picks are offbase (sorry man i love this stuff lol)

Last 10 superbowl match-ups (and the playoff seedings)

2009-2010 Saints (#1)-Colts (#1)

2008-2009 Cardinals(#4)-Steelers(#2)

2007-2008 Giants(#5)-Patriots(#1)

2006-2007 Bears(#1)-Colts(#3)

2005-2006 Seahawks (#1)-Steelers(#6)

2004-2005 Eagles(#1)-Patriots(#2)

2003-2004 Panthers(#3)-Patriots(#1)

2002-2003 Bucs(#2)-Raiders(#1)

2001-2002 Rams (#1)-Patriots(#2)

2000-2001 Giants(#1)-Ravens(#1)

See what I see?

I think you're underestimating the value of the first-round bye... last 10 superbowls.. never been two teams playing where one didn't get a first round bye. I highly doubt this year will be the first given this years match-ups...

Your pick this year: Eagles (#3)-Ravens(#5)... not happening

I understand your point perfectly, however, I am an avid sports fan that knows much more than the average person. I am sure you probably know alot as well. This season is one like any other. The patriots are the number 1 seed and they are not that good. They were beat by the browns and jets. Also, they have a young defense that is not playoff tested.

The colts were 10-6 which is abnormal. The packers are probably the best wildcard team in a long time. The giants upset the patriots who were undefeated as a wildcard team. Anything can happen on any given sunday.

The ravens have a solid offense and solid defense. The are a 12-4 wildcard team. At 12-4 most teams win their division. The also had one of the best turnover ratio's in the league and have minimal injuries. Ed reed led the league in interceptions while only playing in 10 games. They are good.

As for the eagles, I am really pulling for vick. He has been very good this year and is the only player in the league that can do what he does. He took the falcons with no receivers to the nfc championship a few years back. This eagles team has a great defense and a good run game and receiving core. I think my pick is very plausible.

The pats are flawed. The bears aren't that good. The falcons are extrmely overrated. All of the top teams are not dominant. The only top team is the Steelers. I would not be surprised is any team won the superbowl this year because they were all so close. Except the seahawks of course lol

OK.. they lost to the Jets the week after the Moss trade. They also beat the Bears, Steelers, Ravens, Jets (part 2), Packers....(some of the best defenses in the league)

i'll go with the trend and say that the Browns defeat while embarassing... is the exception and not the rule.

Ravens do not have a solid enough receiver corps to attack the Steelers secondary: Troy Polamalu ...nuff said. The ravens aging secondary, slowing down Mike Wallace and co.? doubt it. especially after this week where they have to play smash-mouth football with the Chiefs (best rushing team in the league) breaking news: Ed Reed's pretty broken up about his brother going missing after jumping into the river...doubt his mind will be in it

you made an emotional pick..."I'm pulling for Vick"...Yes vick is a great athlete... but he's not comfortable when a solid D applies pressure (see the most recent games vs. Bears and Vikings) He hasn't mastered decision making in the pocket, especially if Jackson and Maclin aren't wide open. And if not for the late game collapse at 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter... they would've lost that game too. Eagles cannot expect to win that way, especially if they win tomorrow and play Chicago again next week.

Pats are flawed, but disciplined.. you know what happens when your QB simply refuses to throw interceptions and ur offense does not turn the ball over? (best in the league on both counts), you go 14-2, even with a young defense, who is maturing at the right time. As for the pats not being dominant?.... i'd advise you check the score lines in most of those games.

Yes the giants upset the pats in '08... my point was the odds of at least one team having a bye. last 10 SBs--- 2 teams with a bye: 50% of the time only one team with a bye: 50% of the time 2 teams, neither with a bye: ...never

not suprising...when you give the #1 or #2 seed the opportunity to make the SB by winning only 2 games at home... and tell the #5,#6 they have to win 3 games on the road?....

i play the numbers game, your offering me 2 teams with no byes, in the superbowl? YOURS all day...

Might want to worry about them getting passed the seahawks first....not looking good.

By the way, where did they find those 2 dorks that were doing the announcing.

There's still a lifetime left but.....THE SAINTS ARE DOWN 2 TDS TO FREAKING SEATTLE!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME??! Who's laughing now?

I like Atlanta. I think the Georgia Dome is a nice home field advantage. They've only lost one game there this year (by 3 to the Saints a few weeks ago on MNF). I think they can handle the Saints, if the Seahawks pull it off they will man handle them. After that it's the winner of Bears and Eagles or Bears and Packers. That game will be a dog fight and whoever wins will come limping in to the Georgia Dome for the NFC championship. Tony Gonzalez will get 2 TD grabs in the NFC Championship, Falcons win.

I don't think the Falcons can handle the Pats though....

Hate to nitpick but Pats lost to the Jets in the second week, when Moss was still part of the team. He was traded after the win against the Dolphins on the road. As for my pick to win ? Colts. I'm rooting for the Pats but Manning is about to go on a tear.

yeyeah my bad.. that was the game he caught that one hander... but u get the point, they are a more efficient offense without him

You guys need to keep Neckbeard healthy, because he's the only NFL quarterback to not only keep Brandon Lloyd his job, but make him a top receiver in the league! Hopefully he stays off the bottle during the offseason.

I don't know wtf we're going to do. Frankly I didn't like McDaniels that much, and his choice to take Tebow was retarded. I'd say it's going to be ~3 years before we get back on our feet (meaning 9+ wins)

Patrick, you're a genius and I respect your opinion, but you're wrong. The packers will not get past the Falcons I can guarantee that. I'm willing to bet $5 bucks on that if you're up for it (i'm a poor college student). You could wager a guide or something.

your a college student and cannot realize that the falcons are an extremely flawed team and probably the most ovverrated #1 seed ever? The packers are clearly the best team left in the NFC playoffs. Seeding doesn't mean shit especially when their whole team was injured

I'm not supporting the falcons because I think they are the best on paper, I don't, I'm supporting them because I am in Atlanta now and my uncle lives here. i'm just hoping for an Atlanta win.

Edit: holy shit, 3 pieces of monkey shit for supporting the Falcons. Someone has way too many credits.

Agreed on the monkey shit, ATL carried my fantasy team so they have my support.

9/13, 87 yards. Yes he made 2 mistakes. That last one was just a pure young QB forcing it error. Either way he is not playing "terrible".

Aaron Rodgers this is his official coming out party.

i dont think he is terrible but he is not an upper echelon QB. He does mostly check downs and short passes. He doesnt have a big arm.

Brady, Manning, Rivers, and Rodgers. That is QUITE a group of QBs. Definitely among the best group of 4 to be playing at the same time.

Imagine next season (if a lockout doesn't happen): Manning has a redemption year, Vick stays healthy, and Rivers' receiving corp stays healthy. We might be looking at the best group of 5 in NFL history. Rodgers will still have deep WR/TE options, and it doesn't matter who Brady's throwing to.

Go Pack go!!

You know what's difficult??

Standing in a bar full of Falcons fans watching the Packers struggle in the first quarter.

You know what's even more difficult??

Being the only person left in the bar watching the closing minutes of the game.

Next week is going to be a tough game but I think the Bears could have their work cut out for them. Green Bay is playing solid football, but as we all know, all bets are off when it comes the Green Bay - Chicago. I also am not a fan of playing the game in Chicago, but it is what it is.

I'm glad Green Bay put the wood to the Falcons because, though they were a solid team, I think they were overrated in the sense they were playing to their full ability and just squeaking by with a few wins. The Packers played many games horribly, and injured, and lost 6 games by a total of 20 points. Don't get me wrong, a win is a win...and the Falcons certainly bested Green Bay in that sense, but as I told my roommate before the game, if I could see one team just totally walking away in the game it would be Green Bay. Things didn't look too hot in the first quarter but that quickly changed in the second half.

Anyways, I'm hoping Green Bay makes it to the big game but Lord knows Chicago won't topple as easily as Atlanta did.

If you're a fan of the Pack, then that sounds GREAT to me. It's the sign of sweet victory is what is. Will breaking victory.

I tried to maintain my composure, but after a couple hours of drinking and more shots than I care to remember, I'm sure I was getting loud...especially after I overheard some Falcons fans talking about how "Matty Ice" is THE best QB in the league, bar none. I nearly laughed myself into a coma due to oxygen deprivation.
