does anyone have any experiences with SVA? what is the new residence like - is it clean or as bad as people say? how are the 2-3 bedroom suites, lots or no privacy? what kinds of people live there in the summer? why is it so cheap??

new resident is ok....one of my friends had a room with no door on it which kinda sucked but it was big

its cheap just bc its not nearly as nice as NYU...a/c doesnt work as well, its just older in general

all sorts of ppl lived there.

its not as good as NYU to be honest but if you still dont have housing itll do esp considering the little amount of time you will actually be spending there

Lmao at room with no door.

i stayed there and the dorms were bad. my room was large, but had no door and i shared with someone. forget about bringing chicks back unless all of your roommates are gone. the place is old and shitty. i recommend staying somewhere else unless it's your last option.

knew two people who lived there said it was ok except the 2nd bedroom didnt have a door and they had to put up a curtain

nyu is better but i dont know of many other options (besides sublet) and nyu is full at this point im pretty sure

I lived in SVA housing. If you get the George Washington, it's ok. Single rooms, private bathrooms. Are there roaches? Yes, but not if you keep your room clean. Small closets. Cable, fridge and desk included.

ambition56I'm living in George Washington Hall for SVA this summer... is it quiet during the weekdays? I need to get my sleep lol

and what is the crowd like that lives in SVA for the summer?

How did you end up liking George Washington? I'm thinking of living there this summer.

i lived at sva for two summers (both times with a random roommate). it's pretty good housing. i stayed on the one at 10th st and 3rd ave. rooms are clean and relatively large too. the price is alright. the only thing that sucks is that housing ends after 1st week of august (which may or may not be a problem depending on when your internship ends). all in all, though, i'd do it again. wasn't bad at all.
