Taking an internship that is a "step down"
I'm a senior who is graduating at the end of August (have to take 2 summer night classes to finish up). I've had a 3 awesome (non-finance; looking to go into biz dev/strategy/marketing type role) internships, but the roles (and my previous internships) in the industry that I want to go into are in NYC and tend to hire as-needed, so I don't think I can really start seriously applying for full-time gigs until the summer begins. This leads me to getting another internship for the summer.
Due to being stuck in a smaller city with limited prospects, would it be better to get an internship even if it is a "step down" in duties/prestige/relevance of my previous internships? Or just leave the time period off my resume and do something like work on campus and save up money? I'm currently leaning towards internship, but if I can't get any that are paid then I'm not so sure.
