Behavioral & Technical Interview Questions
I have a phone interview in 3 days for the first round of WFs Summer FAP program. I'm assuming I was only invited due to the volume I produce on a daily basis.
All jokes aside, I've been told that the first round is almost purely behavioral/fit. Any advice on potential interview questions and how to answer behavioral ones. It's one of the main things I'm working to improve on seeing as I am very confident in my technical abilities. Once again, any help would be greatly appreciated.
On a side note: I've been doing as much research as I can find free time for, but if you could point me in a direction that is either industry related or firm specific that would be wonderful. (Yes I have used the search button I'm just trying to be as overly prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance gentlemen!
Not the same position but I remember right after graduate I had an interview for a Mortgage Analyst role with them. Was not prepared at all. The HR women was literally firing off your usual cliche behavioral questions.
Technical / Behavioral Mix in Phone Screen (Originally Posted: 07/18/2017)
Hi, I was wondering if the mix of behavioral and technical questions means anything when going through the phone screen. Like is receiving more technical questions necessarily a bad thing, is the interviewer no longer interested in getting to know you?
**The context is that I was going through a 1st round with a BB and got grilled on basically only technicals by both of my interviewers.
No i don't think that's a bad thing necessarily they may just want to make sure you're a serious candidate before you move on
Don't read too much into it. Every firm is different. For more technical-focused firms, they just need to make sure everyone they move on knows the basic accounting and finance. From their POV, if you can't pass that, it doesn't matter how much like they like you as a person.
Great, thanks a lot for the help.
