Technology division progress at GS (or any other BB)

I'm starting as an analyst in the tech division of GS and I'm wondering if anyone here has any insider knowledge of progress in tech divisions of banks such as GS..

I would prefer to move away from a fully technical role eventually and more into project/man management but I'm not sure what the timelines are.. How is an MBA gained after 2-3 years of work as an analyst viewed in technology divisions; is it worthless?
