Tell me an interesting fact about yourself in an Interivew?
I've only had this happen once in an interview, but it comes up a lot at networking sessions and as an "ice breaker" in other situations.
What do you guys use?
Interesting Facts About Yourself
It's a bit awkward sometimes to answer this "funny facts about me" interview question, so it's best to be prepared. Some tips on topics you could talk about without seeming too unprofessional.
- Hobbies like playing sports, watching certain sport teams (safe)
- Exotic or weird locations you've traveled to
- Specific food you like that is not typical in whatever culture you are in
- Anything that is not on your resume that you are proud of
Fun Facts About Me - Don't Make Too Fun
Depending on the context, you don't want to get too personal or too weird/fun, especially in an interview setting. Usually, it's best to check with some friends who will be honest with you before settling on a few answers to this "fun facts" question that you can go to confidently when this inevitably pops up!
Good luck!

Something interesting about myself.
I usually tell them something interesting about myself.
if you can't answer this then I feel bad for you
OP, not literally every question has a right answer that you need to spout to get a job. Just tell them something you think is interesting about yourself. If you really have nothing interesting about yourself, start to do more fun stuff.
Come out of the closet to the interviewer.
+1, this would be hilarious.
Or, "I've always felt like I'm supposed to be a girl and want to enter IB so I can finally afford the necessary operation."
I'm dying laughing at this lol
Don't forget to slowly start sobbing....make it seem like the interviewer was the first person you have came out of the closet to
Obviously I have hobbies, but something like "I really like baseball" just doesn't seem very interesting, I recently used "I studied 4 languages growing up and I can pretty much speak none of them" but I don't think this would look good in an interview setting...
"I am the one who knocks"
I prepared an answer to this question for recruiting because I was having a difficult time thinking of something on the spot in an interview. Having a strong answer in your back pocket can be very valuable if it ever comes up.
"Interesting fact? I hadn't read about this in any interview guides. But, I guess I have two. They're not that interesting as far as facts go, but your home address is 572 El Camino Drive and your wife usually showers around 7 am, just after you leave."
"Oh, you said interesting facts about myself? Nothing."
Just say you struggle to supress sociopathic tendencies on a daily basis and also really like kalamata olives. These kind of delicate questions usually require a gentle touch.
I have webbed buttocks.
Hahahha, great!
Just tell them how Zuckerberg stole your idea for Facebook and that you deserve all credit.

Any other actual ideas?
Warning: Serious answer ahead.
A few that I've used before (to success): - I've gotten in a huge nerf gun fight in an office before. Nobody was injured, but many a pride was hurt. Mainly due to my skills with a semi-automatic. - Once, a gang fight broke out at a client event. We handled it gracefully. - I used to run the original Virtual Choir before Eric Whitacre was able to make it a worldwide success with financial backing. Ask me about how I managed an international organization at the age of 14. - I single-handedly shipped a piece of software in 3 days in my sophomore year internship. Beat that. - I first became interested in finance at the age of 10. I acted as a market-maker for the lending, selling, and buying of cheap paperback books amongst my classmates. Made some great money - 50 cents a trade. Hey now, that's a lot for an elementary school kid. - I was a published author at the age of 9. - During my first entry-level marketing job, they let me lead a client account team. Yeah, I managed people above my career level and did it pretty damn well. - I'm a professional dancer. Come see a show sometime. - When faced with a choice, I always pick pie over cake.
I tend to go for the "confident" thing.
A lot of people have studied languages growing up. Especially the Asian kids who know their native language, English, and another required one from high school. Boring. Tell them something that they'll remember. Thanks for the answer chicandtoughness, I actually also always go pie over cake, maybe I'll have to use that one...
Dammit I knew serious answers would get me MSed :(
I've told a recruiter how, at age 13, I tried to build my own flamethrower with a SuperSoaker, duck tape, a candlestick and gasoline.
Never again.

What are they looking for here? Career dedication? Community involvement? That time I went base jumping in Mexico? This is taking longer than my 500 word essay.
Should I tell them the main reason I want to pursue a career in finance is so I can finally afford a sex change operation and pursue my dream of being like Bruce Jenner?
