The Bernanke Beard

Why is he allowed to have facial hair when most people in economics/finance/politics are not?
Isn't their some unwritten rule about having a beard like that?
Is it to make up for the lack of hair on his head?

Lest we not forget Jon Corzine.

Granted, he was a BSD-trader before taking the helm, so he likely could've rocked the Joe Dirt beard and worn cutoff blue jeans with little complaint.

But doubtful anyone in IBD could pull that off.

He's about to speak, but the pundits got an advanced copy of the speech and read it out loud to us (which I always find kind of annoying and anti-climatic).

He basically says "failing to raise the debt ceiling in a timely way is self-defeating".

Patrick Bateman would eat Eddie Morra's lunch (and probably his brains).
