Thoughts on new Suits episode?

-Pretty sure Rachel got hotter
-Scottie is as hot as ever
-Donna has aged by ~5 years
-Sheila is almost attractive but too old
-Mike is getting a little sappy
-Harvey is getting almost a little too sappy

And somehow Louis Litt has become my favorite character on the show.

You mean he wasn't before?!?

Louis is practically the reason why I watch this show.

Yeah, this.

Also, agreed that Suits feels really stale now. I miss Season 1 where it's more about the cases, and the romance element is secondary. And Mike has become really annoying for me... he seems way too emotional and illogical concerning the way he deals with Rachel, and that other lawyer's case.

I've thought he was the best character since probably end of 1st/start of 2nd season. One of the main reasons I watch the show still. Needs more Litt

Suits has gotten pretty awful. It was soooo good for about 1.5 seasons, maybe even 2. But now it is just unwatchable for me.

"Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way. In twenty years, if you're still livin' here, comin' over to my house to watch the Patriots games, still workin' construction, I'll fuckin' kill you. That's not a threat, that's a fact.

I disagree with some thoughts here on the show being less ballsy. If episode after episode Harvey was doing the usual shouting, smashing people because he's always right--how long do you really think the show will last? The producers seem to be trying to get viewers more emotionally attached and loyal to the show, but I do agree they probably could be less sappy. I watch the show because it's sharp, witty and intelligent. It's still doing well in that regard.

"You are neither right nor wrong because the crowd disagrees with you. You are right because your data and reasoning are right." -Warren Buffett

I miss living vicariously through single Harvey.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

I think many are agreeing that suits is hitting a low. The ratings have hit an all-time low as well. I think that number will continue to fall as they switch this show into a more romance driven drama.

Held off on watching Suits till about 3-4 weeks ago, then downloaded the whole thing to that point (Season 3 break) and watched about two episodes a night. Downloaded the rest at the beginning of last week and was done a week ago. Spoilers, maybe.

I'm split on how it progresses...I don't understand how you can like Louis more than Harvey...he may be a good lawyer but he just...rubs me the wrong way. He doesn't miss a chance to throw someone under the bus. I know people like that in real life and I hate them. Harvey is a much more relatable character, and the way he conducts himself is just more impressive to me. Mike has gotten a bit annoying, but I always have found him a bit annoying - I think that's part of what they want for the character. He's just young and stupid and doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to this profession.

Probably agree that the romance has gotten a little heavy but also, I remember while watching the first season thinking "I hope it's not a new blockbuster case every episode in which Harvey pisses on Mike until Mike has a revaluation and saves the day at the last minute" - and it kind of was. Not completely, but a bit. And that's boring. I think they need to do what they can to keep it fresh, and they did a reasonable job.

Season ending was great I thought...and erased any "going-soft" feelings I had after finishing the first half. The last couple episodes especially I thought were great. That one scene towards the end of the final episode...excellent. Louis redeems himself a bit I guess. Excited to see season 4...can't wait to see how they portray investment banking

Louis is an interesting character, there's a lot of depth there. Props to the actor. And yea, he's screwed people over, but the change from season 1 to now has been huge.

I'll agree to that. Definitely the last few episodes I grew to respect him a lot more as a character...first season I hated who he was. The one thing that I hated more than anything though was that whole incident with the cat...it was just too much. Too ridiculous. They jumped the shark on that one.

Spoiler alert!

Scotty appears to be leaving the show at least temporarily, which should get Harvey back into baller mode (at least I hope), and with the whole fake diploma thing put on hold with Mike going into finance, I hope his sappy moments also take a back seat to the sleek, witty, profession-oriented action that was so great in the first two seasons. While I agree that the show was winding down for much of season 3, I think it is in a position to make a strong recovery if the writers go back to the basics a bit. Also really curious as to how they portray the finance profession in the next season.

I'm setting my bar low on how they portray Mike in finance given they seem to confuse hedge funds and investment banking. You'd think the writers do a quick two-min wiki read of what is a hedge fund before referring to Mike and that Sidwell guy as bankers who write investment algorithms.

And on the point on Louis - the change over time was quite significant over the last few seasons. Besides the actor being great, I think it's because they humanized the character and added depth that makes him easy to root for. Harvey is like this character that always pulls away with a win and is awesome 24/7, but is hardly ever seen as vulnerable, or things generally work out for him.

They have to dumb it down for the masses. Most people probably think "Hedge" means an actual hedge. and a hedge fund is some sort of company that goes around people lawns cutting their hedges.

I do like Louis, was a bit pissed at him for being a wuss and sucking Hardmans penis but he redeemed himself by confronting the Harvard lady over Rachel and his little mud war with the posh English dude (Nigel?) was hilarious.

To be brutally honest, it's kind of a general pet peeve of mine when people overly pick apart shows or movies on the basis of realistic accuracy. This stuff is all just entertainment, and mostly character driven or theme driven. Whether or not the writers have used the terms "hedge fund" and "investment banker" 100% correctly should not hinder anyone's ability to enjoy the show.

Who says it should not? It does for me. I want to believe what I'm seeing. When a show like Top Floor or whatever it's called does it, fine. But Suits is a legit show and more thought should go into the script.

The people who watch the show to see how the characters evolve and how different social themes are explored. If you're watching the show mostly for the legal cases and to learn more about investment banking and hedge funds, I completely understand how proper use of jargon would be crucial.

Who's excited for the new season this week? Better be a huge improvement over season 3, that's all I can say. Seasons 1 and 2 were great, I'm hoping for a return to that now.

Also really interested to see how they portray "investment bankers", although I already expect them to blow it.
