Tim Duncan retired today. Any fans here?

I'm not a Spurs fan, but I have a lot of respect for Tim Duncan. No fanfare, no spotlight, no goodbye season. TD announced today that he is going to retire, leaving behind an amazing career.

In an industry where it's normal for good players to switch teams to chase a higher pay (most recently Dwyane Wade), TD has spent his entire career with the Spurs, leading them to 5 championships.

Thank you for these 19 incredible seasons.

Simply the greatest power forward to ever play the game, at least a top 15 if not top 10 player of all time, the 2nd best player (behind Shaq) of the post-Jordan/pre-LeBron era. What I love about him the most is he is the opposite of the 3rd best player of that era (Kobe) - a total team player and humble every step of the way. The way he retired is just an indication of who he is, no preseason or midseason announcement for bs fanfare, just an "I've done all I can and all I needed to do, it's time to go". Much respect coming from a Rockets fan.

Definitely one of the greatest of all time (best power forward imo); resume speaks for itself. Off the court, a stand up guy. Friend of mine met him and said he's one of the nicest people he's ever met. Sat with my buddy and talked to him and his family as though they were friends. Can't think of anyone who doesn't like TD. Also great motto "Good, Better, Best. Never let it rest / Until your Good is Better, and your Better is your Best"
