top firms in alternative asset-backed securitizations
I'm interested to work with a company that creates and securitizes asset backed securities.
A little about me, I'm an undergrad student and have had two internships at consulting companies (one an Asset Management company and the other an entertainment company) but neither of these companies are well known. Not a star student, although have good relationships with professors-- below 3.5 GPA, but above 3.0.
I liked how Pullman created the Pullman Bonds, though the advent of tech like Napster and Kazaa killed those investments in the 90s. I want to do something similar though, but not ready for a PhD in Financial Engineering.
Although I speak 5 languages, have been involved with the launch of 3 business ventures during school, study Finance and Corporate Communications, have sat for the CFA level 1 in December, I don't have a damn clue what firm I should be applying to or what industry this all falls under.
Which firms do I have a chance in landing an internship at (despite my lack of experience as a Summer Analyst and it being my final semester before graduation) Any specific ones that you guys can recommend?
Should I be looking into investment banking, and should I be in a sales and trading position to be able to meet clients and make and package new securities?
