Turning a rejection into an offer?

After my onsite interview with an expert network, i didnt receive an offer. I was at a funeral the day before my interview, and the next day during the interview i definitely felt off and came off as passive and indecisive. Also I didn't mention the family funeral during the interview or in my follow-up email, because i thought it would seem like an excuse.

They just declined to give me an offer, but I truly feel that im the right candidate for the company. I've read a few articles about how a followup after a rejection turned into an offer. I know its ballsy, but has anyone asked for another chance interview or written a followup to a rejection that made a company reconsider your candidacy?

I've been looking for 8mths so tired of rejection.

Did you call or email the hiring manager? Also how soon did they change their mind after the initial rejection?

thanks
