UN Plays Chicken with Global Financial Markets
I needed a quick vent. For those of you located on Park Avenue, which should be most of you I hope, I think you’ll hear me on this one – the happening-now UN General Assembly-related gridlock and series of blocked streets/sidewalks on and along The Ave (that’s street lingo for Park Avenue, for those few of you bond daddies in Houston OR back office in White Plains) is driving me nuts. I don’t think we’ve seen this level of traffic-induced skullf*cking since Los Angeles’ freeway renovations triggered Carmageddon back in 2011. Aren't they (global leaders) aware that 90% of North American financial market participants are officed on and around Park Avenue, and that such inane, foot-traffic induced stress while stepping out for an SBUX breather run can cause major deleterious effects to the collective financial market psyche, orders of magnitude worse than rainy days and sudden currency de-pegging? If you can commiserate, feel free to comment. Otherwise, I don't want to hear about how someone in a '92 Ford Taurus cut you off in front of the Dairy Queen on America's "Main Street." Have a great day.
